Pozible campaign

This year I’m doing the Sound Design (and a sprinkling of music) for the new WA-produced short film, Factory 293.

The film’s producers (Roderick MacKay , Michael Searle and Justin McArdle) were successful in being accepted into Screenwest’s “3 to 1” funding round, where each dollar raised through crowdfunding site Pozible was matched with another 3 dollars. The team managed to raise over $20,000 in a little over 24 hours, which was then matched by Screenwest to bring the total funds raised to over $80,000.

It is sure to be an exciting project, taking a micro-budget approach to film production. VFX whiz Andy Gordon is in charge of visual trickery, who along with director Roderick Mackay and his team will transform the old railway yards in Midland into a snow-swept, Soviet-era Russian factory. The sounds will play a huge role in this, so I’ll be focussing a lot on snow, blizzrd and storm sounds during this 40 degree+ Perth heat. You’ll get a good idea from the video below about the project, as well as its website and Pozible page.
